WHERE WE TALK ABOUT GROWTH AND PROGRESS
Are you there?
Yes, we are here.
Last time we spoke, we continued our discussion on the relationship between action and vibration and how that relationship impacts the process of manifestation. In that post, you said that “it is inevitable that you will encounter moments along your path where you feel frustrated, confused, even lost, unsure of what to do, or what to believe, or how to live your life. It is these moments in your journey that are generally the most fruitful, where the most growth occurs.”
We also said that in these types of challenging moments, it is important to trust that where you are is where you have chosen to be, where you have been led by your higher self and by Source.
I guess that’s the key element, isn’t it? – trust. Trusting that what you’re doing is actually moving you forward and not the reverse. Sometimes is it hard to tell if we are moving forward on our journey in life or moving backward or just plain standing still.
We can assure that there is no such thing as moving backward. All journeys, no matter how sluggish or slow moving they may seem to the participant, are always moving forward. It is impossible to experience the reverse. The Universe simply does not work that way. As for standing still, sometimes it may seem at times as if you are stuck, but again, we can assure that there is always movement forward. Growth is the natural outcome of all experience that takes place in the Universe. It is built into the program, so to speak. It cannot be otherwise. Growth is the ultimate, ongoing intention of Source and therefor of all elements that exist within the Universe, including yourself. Any fear-based thoughts that you hold to the contrary are simply an invention of the ego designed to resist that growth. While it may be difficult to fathom at times, in truth, the ego has no real power over you or your journey, only such power as you allow. But even then, your higher self is always in control and never allows fear to impede its growth and expansion.
That’s all very reassuring and I thank you for it, but the truth is, from the human point-of-view, it often feels as if we are not making any progress at all, that growth is happening at a snail’s pace, which makes it hard to gauge just how successful we are at doing what we’re here to do.
This brings up an interesting point, one that we have discussed on previous occasions, and that is the human tendency to rate, to grade, to make assessments and to gauge, to use your word, the quality and the outcome of the experiences that you create for yourself on the physical plane. All human persons do this because this is what you have been taught by others on your way to maturity as adults. Comparing yourself with others, marking your progress by what you see others doing or experiencing, and trying to use these comparisons as a way to push yourself forward. It is all so unnecessary and counter-productive, making your journey much more difficult and challenging that it needs to be. This tendency to rate yourself, to compare your progress to others, only adds fuel to the notion, the ego’s notion, by the way, that you are never doing enough to foster your own progress, that there is always more that you could do to move yourself along your path at a faster clip. If you could simply relax for a moment and trust that everything is perfect just as it is, that there is nothing that you NEED to do, nothing that you SHOULD be doing to foster your growth, you would allow more happiness into your life and enjoy your journey much more.
Our friends Abraham often says, and I’m paraphrasing, that the journey we are making has been perfectly designed. We are completely safe, nothing can go wrong, and results are guaranteed. And so, we can either move along our path with all of our baggage – our worries, our doubts, our fears – or we can set down these burdens and move forward without them. It is our choice. We will reach our intended destination either way.
There is great wisdom in what our friends Abraham have to say. The only thing that can make your journey seem more difficult, more challenging than it needs to be, is you. That is because you hold fast to the belief that your baggage – your worries, doubts and fears – are necessary parts of your journey, but they need not be. Sometimes, simply stepping out of the way and allowing the journey to continue of its own accord is often the best choice you can make.
And that leads us back to trust. Trusting that everything is OK and all right and that there is nothing that we need to do except follow our instincts, our feelings, as we move ahead. That is sometimes very hard for us humans to do.
It is important to bear in mind, if you must take stock of your growth and progress, that all journeys are different, especially the journey of remembrance that all human persons share. As we have said before, while the destination may be the same – remembering who you really are and why you have come – there are approximately 7 billion ways for this journey to unfold, 7 billion variations on a theme, 7 billion facets of the diamond that is the earthly experience. If there was only one way, there would only be one of you inhabiting the planet at the present time. It is also important to remember that everyone moves at their own pace. Some like to move more quickly than others. Some are content to amble along. It all depends on the type of earthly experiences that you have chosen for yourself in this or any other lifetime. And growth and progress along your path can often occur without your even being aware of it. Look at your own path and compare, if you must, where you are now with where you were a year or two ago. It may not have seemed at any given moment along the way that you were moving forward at all. Indeed, there have been many times in the recent past where you were completely convinced that you were moving backwards and regressing, experiencing old behaviors and emotions that you were convinced had been released long ago. In actuality, your system was allowing you to move forward more easily by releasing old, entrenched energies that no longer served you. A challenging experience for you, but a sign of growth and progress nonetheless. And so, here you are – over the past year or so, your mind has become clearer and more focused, you are more relaxed and present, your relationship with your own inner self is stronger and more aligned than ever, you are more in touch with your own dreams and desires, your emotions are calmer and steadier, your intentions are more purposeful, your physical form is healthy and energized, and perhaps most importantly, after twenty-two years you have finally allowed yourself to stop working at a job that no longer brought you any joy or satisfaction, leaving you free to spend all of your newly-found leisure time chatting with us. All in all, as fine a picture of growth and progress that you could find anywhere in the Universe.
You all are so funny. But I do want to thank you for those kind words. And let’s not forget that a year ago, I barely had any kind of conscious relationship with all of you, let alone one that would give me the confidence and the courage to transcribe our conversations and post them on a website. That is something I had never imagined.
It has been a pleasure to be such an integral part of your journey.
I think we will stop there for today.
Of course. We look forward to our next conversation.
Thank you all.
