Today, I would like pick up where we left off in our discussion of angels.

It would be our pleasure. What is it that you would still like to know about the nature of angels and the angelic realm?

I’d like to start with the angelic hierarchy, if such a thing exists. As a part of my religious education growing up, I was taught that there are many classifications of angels: seraphim, cherubim and thrones; dominations, virtues and powers; principalities, archangels and angels. I can’t even remember what all of those classifications mean now, but from your perspective, do these kinds of angelic hierarchies exist, with some angels more powerful, more knowledgeable, closer to God than others? Do some have a greater, more important mission than others? Or are all angels basically created equal?

Each according to their energy and purpose. That is how we can best describe it. We cannot speak of equality of power or importance of mission, for as we have stated on previous occasions, all beings in the Universe are important to the growth and expansion of All That Is, and are therefore equal one to the other with regard to that purpose. Indeed, this issue of equality that so often preoccupies the mind of the human person is what you would call a “non-issue” in the spiritual realm. It is a given. All beings are equal to every other being that exists.

The reason I ask is that I often enjoy the guided meditations of Melanie Beckler, whose area of expertise is angels and angel guidance. She often channels Archangel Michael to great benefit, and sometimes when she does, I can feel Michael’s energy very strongly. It seems to me, to my human mind, that Michael’s energy is very big, for lack of a better word. Very big and incredibly expansive, capable of reaching every single person on the planet with his message, if that’s his intention. In other guided meditations, Melanie will often suggest that we call upon “a hundred thousand angels” to assist and guide us. That seems like a lot to me, a hundred thousand angels. And I often wonder, and this may not be accurate, of course, I wonder if it takes a hundred thousand ordinary angels to equal the power of one angel like Archangel Michael.

Once again, each being according to its energy and purpose. What we would like you to understand when it comes to the existence of angels and their purpose is that, unlike the earth plane, where your physical forms contribute to your collective belief in separation, there is in fact no separation on the non-physical plane. There is no actual separation on the physical plane either, but we can explore that topic more fully another time. Suffice it to say, if we can make this clear to you, that there is no essential difference between the being you refer to as Archangel Michael and one angel in a hundred thousand. All beings are one. All beings are a part of the whole AND the whole as well, all at once at the same time. We realize that this is a difficult concept for your human mind to grasp, but it is so nonetheless. What this means is that the comparative notions that you hold regarding the relative power of this non-physical being as opposed to that non-physical being is an entirely human proposition, held from an entirely human perspective. We are not in any way attempting to persuade you to view the angelic realm in any way differently than you already do, only that you bear in mind that your choice to measure angelic power and position in earthly terms is just that, a choice, a personal choice based on what you believe serves you best in the moment.

You say that the primary function of angels is to bring light and love into each and every corner of the Universe. Can you tell us how they do that exactly?

By inviting you to surrender and release your negative energy, your low-frequency cognitive and emotional energy, into the light of Source and replace it with the love, peace and joy of All That Is. In a sense, angels are energy exchangers, capable of providing extraordinary transformational assistance, a process which is facilitated through their sheer presence and the force of their intention. You might think of them as programmers, if you like, committed to downloading unconditional love into your energy field, twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week.

And how do they do THAT?

If you were a student of quantum physics, we might be able to properly explain to you the mechanics behind what we have referred to as the “downloading of unconditional love,” although such detailed knowledge is certainly not necessary for you to reap the benefits of angelic assistance. Indeed, if we may suggest, the mechanics behind this process are not the main event, so to speak. You need but trust that the hows and wherefores are in place and concentrate your focus on what you desire as it concerns the angelic realm. Does the idea of angelic assistance resonate with you, make you feel comforted, make you feel loved, make you feel less alone? If so, then cultivate those relationships. Explore them in your meditations, reach out to the angels, talk with them, develop a bond, foster a friendship of mutual love and sharing. As we said in our last conversation together, the angels are here to assist you. They wait only upon your request, your willingness, your openness to receive. The rest will take care of itself.

Sounds like we actually have way more help than we realize or understand. We are never really alone, are we?

Indeed, you are not. Despite what you may feel, you are never, ever alone. The entire Universe is at your disposal as you attempt to navigate the challenges of human existence. Anything less and there would be no point, do you not agree?

Yes, of course. But if there is so much help out there, why don’t we feel it more often?

Because you have forgotten who you really are. And because of that state of forgetfulness, there exists, so to speak, a veil of illusion that lies between what you believe yourself to be and who you really are. If you were, in this moment, to instantly and spontaneously remember who you really are and why you have come, you would at the same time remember all that you are in non-physical as well, your true multidimensional self. All that you are, all that you know, all that you have experienced, would become known to you, remembered by you, including the existence of angels.

In our last conversation, you said that angels ”exist almost exclusively in non-physical.” What did you mean when you said “almost?” Are you saying that angels can sometimes take on human form or even the form of an animal or an inanimate object? There are a number of stories that we humans tell ourselves about angels taking human form. I’m thinking mostly of films I have seen over the years like “The Bishop’s Wife,” where Cary Grant plays an angel in human form who has come to earth to help a bishop and his family rekindle the joy in their lives. Does that ever happen? Do angels ever walk among us?

Depending on the intention of Source, and the intention and purpose of each individual angelic entity, yes, it is indeed possible for angels to walk among you, although it is not always necessary for an angel to assume physical form to impart guidance to you. Angels more often than not communicate with you energetically, through your cognitive or emotional fields.

Could you give us an example of that?

You are about to cross the street without looking because your mind is distracted, not focused on the present, and at the last moment, you feel something inside yourself, a thought, an impulse to pull yourself back, and in doing do, you avoid being struck by a passing car. This might be an example of angelic guidance at work. Some might call it the work of your guardian angel, others the work of your higher self or of God. It does not matter how you characterize it. It is all the same. The loving, protective energy of Source who seeks only your safety and well-being.

And how about an angel that has assumed physical form to give help or guidance, like the angel Cary Grant plays in “The Bishop’s Wife?” What might that be like?

Let us use a variation of the same scenario. As before, you are about to cross the street without looking because your mind is distracted and at the last moment, instead of an internal thought or impulse warning you of physical danger, you feel someone behind you, tugging on your arm, pulling you back from the oncoming traffic just in time to keep you from being struck. You turn to thank the individual and somehow, as if by magic, they are gone.

And that can really happen? An angel appears out of nowhere to help you and then disappears into thin air?

In the realm of creation that constitutes the Universe, with all of the infinitely diverse creators at work, nothing, absolutely nothing is beyond the realm of possibility.

Given all that you’ve said about angels in our conversations, I’m starting to think that it might be a good idea for us to try and emulate the qualities of an angel, or what we think of as the qualities of an angel, in our real, everyday, earthly lives.

Indeed. You are, at your core, in your essence, on the highest level of your existence, you are also a being of light vibrating at the frequency of unconditional love, a being of angelic quality abiding in physical form. In emulating the qualities of an angel, you are essentially emulating your true, divine self, and in the process, moving one step closer to remembering who you really are and why you have come. If it helps your process of remembering to think of yourself as an angel, then by all means, think of yourself as an angel, do what you can to emulate an angel, be an angel in every moment that you can. For as you do, you will allow yourself, in the process, to simply be yourself, one who is a truly loving, compassionate, joyous being of the Universe!
