WHERE WE DISCUSS THE IMPORTANCE OF APPRECIATION

Are you there?

Yes, we are here.

I have the feeling that there is a topic that all of you would like to discuss today.

Following up on our previous conversations regarding desire and expectation, we felt it was important to open a discussion about the importance of appreciation, both in general and as it pertains to the process of manifestation.

Why is appreciation so important?

Appreciation, the feeling of appreciation, vibrates at a frequency that most resembles the frequency of Source.

I would have thought that love is closest in frequency to that of Source energy.

Unconditional love, yes. But human persons often confuse unconditional love with romantic love and unfortunately, they are rarely the same. That is why we would like to focus on acts of appreciation, as it is easier for humans to express appreciation in an unconditional manner.

How does appreciation affect what we manifest in our lives?

As we explored in our discussion on abundance and prosperity, what you focus on is what increases in your life. Take money, for example. Almost every human person on the planet would like to have more money in their lives. What most humans do, however, is put their attention on their LACK of funds rather than on the abundance that is all around them. You do not need to focus on money for your funds to increase. All you need to do is focus on abundance.

Where does appreciation come into it?

When you can shift your focus to abundance AND appreciate the abundance all around you, it builds good-feeling, high-vibrational energy that helps you to create more abundance in your own life.

There is a lot to be thankful for in this world, but we do take a great deal of it for granted.

That is absolutely the case with almost every human person. When you are not present in the moment, when your emotions are disengaged from what is going on around you, mostly out of habit, you lose sight of the fact that each and every thing that you encounter as you go through life was at some stage a thought inside someone’s head. That is the starting point for everything that you see and experience in your life. A thought inside someone’s head. That first thought drew other similar thoughts to itself and eventually enough energy and momentum built up around this accumulation of thoughts that an experience, a relationship, a physical object, was created.

And yet most of the time we have no awareness of any of that.

Indeed. Imagine for a moment walking down a street in your neighborhood. When you walk down the street, say, on your way to the market, what are you aware of? What do you pay attention to?

The weather I suppose. I live on the sixth floor, so that’s always the first thing I notice when I leave my building. Then I look at the other people walking down the street and wonder about them. I look at the parked cars maybe. And then not a whole lot, I guess. Street lights so I know when to cross. Changes that may have occurred in the neighborhood since the day before. Whether or not the garbage was collected. Things like that.

Are there trees on your street?

Yes, there are many trees on my block.

When was the last time you actually stopped and looked at one of the trees for more than a second? When was the last time you considered where those trees came from? Who planted them? How long they had been there? Have you ever asked yourself how the sidewalk you walk on was built and when and by whom and how much hard work it must have taken? Same for the buildings on your block. Have you ever imagined what it must be like to construct the building you live in? Brick by brick? Even before that, the design meetings, the budget meetings, the city building permits, the tools, the workers?

We really do take so much of our world for granted.

Indeed. There is a great deal that you are not noticing and not appreciating that make your life what it is. Instead, you spend much of your time criticizing and complaining and grousing about the things in your life that do NOT please you. “That crack in the sidewalk is STILL not fixed! Do those construction workers have to be so LOUD? Why is it so HOT?” Or you are simply not present in the moment. “That report is due today and I’m not prepared!” “Should I have pizza or a salad for lunch?” “I really need to call my mom!” If you were to closely monitor your thoughts as you take a simple walk down the street, you would be amazed at the amount of negative or absent-minded thinking that goes on inside of your head.

I know I ask this question a lot, but what can we do to change this?

Take time to appreciate what you experience all around you. Appreciate the workers who constructed the buildings on your street. Appreciate the electricians who installed the electrical wiring in your building and in the street lamps and in the traffic lights. Appreciate the plumbers who built the water system that brings water to you every day and built the sever systems to rid the city of waste. We could go on and on, but you get the idea. What you want to do is look around and really SEE what is there and appreciate how it all got there in the first place. Appreciate the CREATIVE energy behind each and every thing that you come in contact with. Feel it within your own body. As you allow this appreciation to grow, you will not only replace the negative, complaining thoughts that run around unchecked inside of your mind, but you will also bring yourself and your own creative energy into alignment with the energy of Source. As we have said before, what you focus on increases. Imagine what you can do if you put the power of APPRECIATION behind that focus. The creative possibilities are infinite. And all you really need to do to get started is take a simple walk down the street.

I think we’ll stop there for today.

Of course. Until next time.

Thank you all.
