I know we just did one, but I’d like to do another Q&A today.
We always enjoy our question-and-answer sessions. What is our first question?
Question #1: You’ve said in the past that when we’re triggered emotionally in a way that feels unpleasant to us, it’s important to catch our emotions at the beginning and just allow them to pass through our energy field. But what can we do when a negative, low-frequency emotion lingers on and on and we can’t seem to shake it?
Answer #1: While it is true that all negative emotions, those being the emotions that do not feel good within your body, emotions of a low-frequency nature, when you are experiencing emotions that vibrate in this manner, it is important to start by allowing the emotion to be, to exist just as it is, within your emotional energy field, the best that you can. We realize that this is a challenge when the emotion is of a particularly low vibration. No one likes to feel bad any longer than they need to, but it is very important in a situation such as this that you allow emotion to have full expression if possible. And by full expression, we do not mean acting out this type of emotion. Only that you feel it as fully as you are able within your physical form. When you can sit with your emotion and simply allow it to be, this will help you to better understand the emotion – where it resides within your body, where on the emotional guidance scale it registers, how dense or expansive or discomfiting it feels. Acknowledging and accepting these low-vibrational emotions can help to alleviate any fear or anxiety that you harbor about experiencing them. Eventually, if you can stay grounded, detached and allow the emotions to be, eventually they will lose their power and release themselves from your system naturally. If this does not occur within what you consider to be a reasonable period of time, this is the time for you to examine more closely the thoughts BEHIND the emotion, what we have been referring to as the triggering thoughts. Generally, when an emotion lingers within your system, regardless of where it registers on the emotional scale, it does so because you yourself are perpetuating it, feeding it and sustaining it through your own thoughts. You may ask yourself, “Why do I still feel so bad about that situation that happened three days ago? Why can’t I seem to let it go?” This is the moment for you to stop and take stock of what is going on inside of your head. If you listen closely enough, you will hear the instigating thoughts running through your mind. That is what is keeping the emotion alive within your system. That’s when you need to tackle the issue from the mental side and do what you can to change your thought patterns. Distract yourself, meditate, recite some affirmations, anything to pivot your thoughts in a different direction.
Question #2: Could you talk a little bit about the importance of stillness in the process of spiritual awakening?
Answer #2: All energy, all creation that exists in the Universe, both in non-physical and in the time-space continuum within which you abide, all creation springs forth, continuously and spontaneously, from the deep well of stillness that permeates All That Is. We realize that, given the constant stream of internal and external stimuli that each of you encounters on a daily basis, it is a challenge for the human mind to easily embrace the idea of an all-encompassing stillness, especially one from which all that can be experienced arises. And yet it is so. This stillness of which we speak is a natural aspect of the function of the Universe. It is an essential part of the creative process, on both the physical and non-physical planes. This is why cultivating stillness within your own personal energy system is so important. When you are still and quiet within, you are free from the distractions created by the stream of endless chatter that ordinarily fills your mind. When you are still and quiet within, you are able to more readily create for yourself those experiences, those interactions, those moments of love and joy and peace for which you yearn. When you are still and quiet within, you allow yourself to identify with and emulate the very qualities of the Universe that represent on the deepest level who you really are. You can reach this place of stillness and quiet, one that already exists within your energy field, by utilizing your focused will and intention to foster awareness of your surroundings, both inside and out. By practicing meditation, for example, it is possible for you to become more sensitive to the way in which your mind works, how it creates thought and how the pace and frequency of those thoughts fluctuates depending upon the focus of your own attention. By practicing mindfulness, that is, awareness of what is occurring throughout your surroundings when you are present in a fully conscious state, it is possible for you to seek out and find those moments of silence that exist in, around and between the constant static that pervades your everyday lives. It is in this manner, by using the tools of both meditation and mindfulness, that a state of peace and calm is achieved and maintained.
Question #3: I was reading through one of my old Seth/Jane Roberts books the other day – The “Unknown” Reality” – which some of our readers may be familiar with. In it, I came across a quote I didn’t remember seeing the first time around: “You became enamored of your own creations and in the process, lost touch with mass consciousness, with the energy, the information, that you all share, remaining identified solely with your personality selves.” Can you explain what Seth meant by that?
Answer #3: With these words, our friend Seth and his channel Jane Roberts speak to an aspect of human evolution related to the development of the egoic mind. As Seth explains, there was a time in your planet’s early history, an extended portion of time, in which the personality self, that part of you that is most identified with the ego, began to fully understand and appreciate its ability to create form upon the physical plane. This was, for the most part, a time of learning, of discovery, of acquiring creative skills that were heretofore unknown by beings in non-physical. This was the whole point, so to speak, for it was and is the intention of Source to create and foster an environment where non-physical energy could be used to create physical experience for those beings who choose to incarnate upon the Earth plane. During this time, and long before, those humans who inhabited the physical environment maintained the ability to communicate extrasensorially not only with each other but with all living things – animals, plants, even with what are referred to as inanimate objects – an ability that was an innate part of their energy system prior to their incarnation on the physical plane. Depending upon an individual being’s degree of openness, and where each one chose to place their attention, all manner of information could be shared among the inhabitants of the physical plane as easily as you might do in having a simple conversation with a friend. However, as the personality self evolved and grew and matured, it became more and more fascinated with itself and its ability to create form. Form, then, became the primary focus of the ego’s attention and all of the physical, mental and emotional energy that was fundamental to the human experience became fixated upon it. In the process, the ability to interface freely with all the elements of the earthly experiment, that which Seth refers to a “mass consciousness,” began to diminish, starved for lack of attention, until eventually, this skill was lost except to a very few. Some vestiges of this type of communication skill do still exist within the human energy system, mostly in the form of intuition or feeling, but otherwise these remain, for the most part, untapped. We might suggest, as is our custom in our role as your guides, that you place some of your time and attention back upon this seemingly lost skill in an effort to cultivate your connection to all the elements of the Universe. As this connection is a natural part of who you really are, nurturing it can only serve to enhance your experiences upon the physical plane.
Question #4: Could you explain the difference between accepting what is and resigning yourself to what is?
Answer #4: Accepting what is and resigning yourself to what is are indeed two entirely different states of being and it is important to note this distinction, given that the energy behind each of these two states is directly related to how one utilizes the creative process. Accepting the current state of your physical experience is an essential component in the successful completion of the creative process. Indeed, in a sense, this is how and where the creative process begins. Yes, all creation springs from desire, from your attention upon a desired experience, but lacking your FULL attention, which occurs when you merely resign yourself to the so-called facts, it is that much more difficult to achieve the desired result. Do you see? When you have resigned yourself to your current state, a part of your focus and attention remains fixated upon that which you no longer desire, perhaps an experience which you have come to tolerate as some sort of necessary aspect of the difficulties and challenges of life. “That’s just the way things are. There’s not much I can do about it. I just need to deal with it as best I can because it’s a fact of life.” That is resignation, another opportunity for your ego to say “I’m powerless.” You acknowledge the state of your current reality, but it is a passive acknowledgement, one that allows little or no hope for change. Acceptance, on the other hand, is a much more active state. It encourages a sense of freedom regarding what you can expect out of the creative process. It shifts your attention from what you believe to be impossible to a belief in that which is possible, from what you see as the problem to what you see as the solution. And that is where the difference lies. Resignation holds your creative energy back, discourages it, thwarts it, keeps any positive expectation from blossoming fully while sending forth only low-vibrational thoughts in relation to your desired outcome. Acceptance frees up your creative energy, allowing you to become comfortable with your current state while continuing to encourage you to follow through on that which you desire. Accept what is and allow for more. This is the ideal mantra, for this is how true and effortless creative is achieved. This belief, rather than one that reinforces your own powerlessness, is where we encourage your thoughts to run.
