WHERE WE SHARE SOME FINAL THOUGHTS ON PAIN AND ILLNESS

WHERE WE SHARE SOME FINAL THOUGHTS ON PAIN AND ILLNESS

Are you there?

Yes, we are here.

We’ve spent a great deal of time over the past several weeks talking about pain and illness – how and where those experiences originate within our energy system, how we relate to those experiences, how we cope with them, how we create them. Today, I want to explore some of the ways in which we can gain some relief from these challenging physical conditions and find our way to a place of healing.

Before we begin to speak about the various approaches that you might take to help alleviate illness and pain, let us first review some basic truths about your physical form. As we have said in previous conversations, perfect health and well-being are fundamental to your body’s natural state. Ideally, that is how you intended to experience life on the physical plane – as a whole and healthy human being. All deviations from this natural state of well-being, including pain and illness, are the result of choices that are made, either consciously or unconsciously, by each individual human person on their respective journeys. These choices are informed by what each of you believes can best serve your chosen path in any given lifetime and are always intended to assist you in awakening to who you really are and why you have come. Each and every condition that you create or attract, including a lack of health, functions as a part of a larger purpose, one that we have discussed many times before, and that is the growth and expansion of the Universe. We are not unaware of or insensitive to the challenges that this type of arrangement presents to those who choose to follow the earthly path, but we are here to remind you that these challenges were well known to you before you incarnated on the physical plane, and while it may be difficult for you to comprehend from your human point of view, they were fully embraced by you and every other human person that abides on the earth plane. Indeed, we would even go so far as to say that engaging in these experiences was eagerly anticipated by each and every one of you. That is the whole point of your journey, after all. To experience everything, and we mean EVERYTHING, that the physical plane has to offer – the light, the dark, the love, the fear, the abundance and the lack and all that lies in between – and to do so with love and joy and appreciation and with the full support of the Universe. To assist you in dealing with the wide range of issues that you may encounter along your journey, your energy system has been designed by Source, by you, to always seek balance. That includes a balance of health and well-being, no matter how challenging the physical condition. Only you can create imbalance within your own system and only you can allow balance to be restored. It is all up to you, as part of your agreement with Source, to make your own decisions, your own choices on your journey. That is what free will is all about. With regard to your physical health, your body comes with its own naturally built-in healing mechanism, one that is eminently apparent once you open your awareness to it. Consider, for example, what happens to your body when you incur a simply injury like, say, a cut on your finger. You innately trust that your body will heal this cut on your finger within a short period of time. You do not even need to think about it. It is a given. You KNOW that your body will heal itself. Now, if you can allow yourself to fully embrace this idea of the body’s self-healing capabilities and extend it to your entire physical form, you will eventually come to understand and accept the fact that your entire system has been designed to seek out perfect health and well-being regardless of the circumstance. Even a condition as dire as cancer is treated by your physical energy system in the same way that the cut on your finger is treated. Your body will always seek to heal itself, will always seek balance. In the case of your experience with ulcerative colitis, as well as your recent episode of back pain, it is now possible for you to see both of these conditions as an attempt on your system’s part to clear out the toxins, both physical and emotional, that had built up within your body’s energy field. That would explain why, after much hard work on your part to allow your body to clear itself, reset and open once again to the natural flow of life-force energy, your colitis symptoms eventually found their way into remission and your back pain was relieved. In both instances, your body had achieved its goal of restoring itself to a natural, balanced state of health and well-being.

Given everything you’ve said, it’s clear that the only thing standing in our way when it comes to our experiencing perfect health and balance are the limited beliefs we hold in our minds about our bodies and the process of healing. And yet, I know from experience that there are ways we can push past those mental limitations and build a stronger sense of health and well-being. We can start by simply appreciating our bodies. Thanking them for all that they do, exercising them every day, paying close attention to what we’re eating, and doing everything we can to make feeling good a priority. It also helps to focus attention on health as much as possible – health in others, health in nature, health in everything you come in contact with. If you look closely enough, you’ll find that abundant health and well-being exist all around you, in every aspect of your life. The more you can keep your focus on health and well-being, the sooner it will manifest in your experience. Of course, sooner or later everyone experiences health imbalances. They’re almost impossible to avoid. When that happens, and you find yourself in need of outside assistance, my advice is to trust your instincts, especially when it comes to diagnosis and treatment. By all means, consult a healthcare practitioner, but do your own research as well and remain open-minded when it comes to your choices. If you get stuck, or you become dissatisfied with what you are being offered in terms of treatment, don’t be afraid to look outside the box. That’s what I did when I was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis. When I was told by my gastro-enterologist that I would need to take certain medications for the rest of my life, something about that prognosis just didn’t feel right. I knew that colitis was a difficult condition to heal completely, but I was determined to find another way. And so, while I remained under the care of my physician, I began to explore alternatives and eventually found my way to Reiki, which served me well and, when combined with traditional treatment from my gastro-enterologist, eventually brought my symptoms into remission. It can also be very beneficial to support your treatment, whatever it might be, with mindfulness practice, visualizations that can help you focus on optimal healing, and guided meditations that can assist you with clearing out old emotional energy from your field. It’s also a good idea to seek out reading material that supports a healing mindset. My favorite is “You Can Heal Your Life” by Louise Hay. It’s been around a long time, but it’s one of the best manuals on healing I’ve ever read. All of these resources can be very helpful in releasing those limitations we place on ourselves and expanding our ideas of what it possible when it comes to our health and well-being.

This is all excellent advice for anyone seeking to restore the natural balance of health and well-being to their physical form. With regard to treatment modalities, keep in mind that healing can only come through the highest level of your belief, through your current vibrational level, wherever that might lie. For example, if you do not believe in energy healing and are not open to its therapeutic effects, then there is every chance that this type of healing modality will not work well for you. At the same time, if you feel that you need something more than just traditional treatments, perhaps this is the time to explore alternative healing practices for additional support. If you are unsure as to which direction your treatment should take, we always recommend before beginning any treatment regimen that you first go within and open a dialogue with your body. As we said in our last conversation, it is your physical form that most directly experiences pain or illness, so it is in the best position to help you understand how to alleviate any unwanted conditions. If you remain in close contact with your physical form and continue to stay open to whatever information you may receive, often the best treatment option will make itself known to you. Above all, do not be afraid to ask for help. All the Universe is at your disposal. Indeed, a simple request for relief will often lead you to the appropriate form of treatment for the condition that you are seeking to resolve. This is something that you can do at any time and requires no outside assistance. When you are in the throes of physical pain, it is difficult to think of anything else, let alone focusing on positive aspects of your day or your life in an effort to shift yourself to a higher, healing perspective. So why not offer a prayer for guidance, for help, for relief? This is an easy way to begin a shift away from your focus on pain towards something lighter and more positive. This is another reason that we stress the importance of working from the inside when you seek healing. The cause is within and so is the cure.  By asking for relief, you summon all of the resources of the Universe to your aid. So never be afraid to ask for help in whatever manner feels most comfortable to you.

That all sounds great. There is often great comfort to be found in just asking for help.

Bear in mind what we have said on previous occasions. Your body is the creation that endures the longest. It is your friend, your companion, your guide, the creation more than any other that grounds you into the physical world. It is also perhaps the most complex creation that you will manifest during your time on the physical plane, one that will provide many challenges for you, but much pleasure, joy and excitement as well. It is the most direct, the most vital, the most immediate reflection of your abiding, loving spirit, and it is through your appreciation of the wonderous miracle of the human form that you will most easily remain aligned with who you really are. So, care for your body, respect it, love it, give it the sustenance and attention that it needs and deserves, for it is there to serve you on your journey towards remembrance.

I think this is a good place to stop. I want to express my appreciation to all of you for the insightful information you’ve provided for our readers on these issues related to our health and well-being. This series of conversations on pain and illness has been an enormous undertaking, but one that has brought me a great deal of pleasure and satisfaction. Next time, I want to close out our posts on pain and illness by putting together some of the healing affirmations I used during the time of my colitis symptoms. They are especially useful with conditions where you are experiencing a lot of physical pain.

It has been our pleasure assisting you and our readers to a greater understanding of the nature of health on the physical plane. Remember – perfect health is your natural state. If you can keep your focus there, you’re halfway towards a healthy, happy life.

Thank you all.
