Today, I would like to talk about the higher self.
We would be more than happy to talk to you about the higher self.
Let’s start with a simple question: What is the higher self?
The higher self, your higher self, is a vibrational extension of Source energy, and like Source, it is composed of unconditional love and shares all of the characteristics and qualities of Source energy. It is the truest part of yourself, your eternal self. When we say that you, Richard, are here to remember who you really are, we are referring to your higher self. That is where your real identity lies. The physical form you inhabit is simply a temporary vehicle designed for the purpose of growth and expansion. Your higher self is who you really are.
When you say that the higher self is an extension of Source energy and shares all of its characteristics and qualities, what do you mean exactly?
Think of your higher self as an ocean wave. If you are standing on a beach looking out at the sea, your senses can pick out an individual wave as it crests and crashes upon the shore. You can see that each wave essentially operates as an independent entity with its own energy and its own momentum. In this regard, no two waves are exactly alike. At the same time, each wave IS the ocean. When you step back and widen your focus, your perception blends what previously seemed like separate elements into a consolidated whole, the ocean. You can still perceive each wave if you choose, but now you have a greater sense of the whole. In this way, each wave is a part of the ocean AND the whole ocean, all at the same time. And that is your higher self. An extension of Source energy and the whole of Source simultaneously.
So where do I fit into this equation?
You, Richard, are a vibrational extension as well, an extension of your own higher self. Source creates your higher self and by extension, Source creates you. By extending itself to you through your higher self, Source is able to expand its creative abilities and forge an infinite variety of new experiences. These new experiences are ones that you help to create, experiences that propel the growth and expansion of the Universe.
So, if I truly identify as my own higher self, then I am to Source as the wave is to the ocean. I exist as a part of AND the whole of Source, as does every other human being on the plant.
Correct. You are the individual element identified as the whole. And that holds true for everything that you see and experience. We realize that this might be a difficult concept to grasp, but that is the nature of the Universe, of Creation, of Source.
What then is your relationship with my higher self?
It is difficult to describe this type of non-physical relationship in human words. From a metaphysical point of view, you might say that the frequency at which your higher self vibrates and the frequency at which we vibrate are very similar and very much aligned, but that does not tell the whole story. Instead, let us say that between us and your higher self there exists great love and kinship, shared creative experience, and above all, a focused commonality of intention and purpose. In a sense, our relationship with your higher self is like the relationship you might have with one of your oldest and dearest friends.
And yet you are also a guide.
Yes. Friend and guide. But that is not so unusual. You receive guidance from other human persons all of the time. In fact, you receive guidance from an infinite number of sources. Even the trees that you pass as you walk down the street are guiding you. The entire Universe is working together to guide each and every part of itself towards growth and expansion.
How, then, do you function in my life differently than my higher self?
That is a very good question. Your higher self and we as your guides play different roles in your journey. Your higher self runs the show. It is the chess grandmaster, so to speak. It is aware at all times of all of the moving pieces, not just you, but all of your simultaneous lives and your probable lives and everything that you are creating and experiencing. It oversees communication between Source and all of these individual parts while monitoring the progress of each and every one of them. And it creates. It creates and creates and creates, non-stop, all the time, and it does so in coordination with the focused intention and purpose of Source.
And your part in all of this?
Like you and your higher self, we are also a vibrational extension of Source energy, one that works together with your higher self to guide you towards growth and expansion. We are the coaches over on the sidelines encouraging you, cheering you on. We are the best friends you turn to when you are stuck and cannot decide what to do. We are part advisor, part nurse maid, part therapist, and in these capacities, we help you to focus, we comfort you and help to keep you safe, we assist you in shifting your perspective, we prepare you for the signposts up ahead, and most importantly, we send you endless streams of unconditional light and love to help you remember who you really are and why you have come. We are a highly specialized, focused form of guidance, one that is designed specifically with you in mind.
Which means, among other things, that you like to talk a lot.
We accept that characterization. But that is what you enjoy as well, do you not? You are a talkative person and enjoy a good conversation, so it is no great burden for us to accommodate your preferences. Regardless of the form our guidance takes, our purpose is and always will remain the same – to help you remember who you really are and why you have come. That is part of our agreement with you and with your higher self and that is where our focus and commitment lie. With you, on your journey towards remembering.
